"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease." Thomas Edison |

What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is primary medical care that integrates modern medical science with traditional natural therapies. The underlying cause of disease is addressed while supporting the natural healing process of the human body. Naturopathic medicine treats the whole person which includes the physical, mental/emotional, spiritual, environmental and social aspects. Health is restored using therapies from the sciences of clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and physical therapies such as massage and Bowen technique. A personalized treatment plan is developed for the patient after information is gathered through listening to chief concerns and a complaint oriented physical exam. The patient is then educated on how to use safe, natural approaches to optimize their health.
Naturopathic physicians are general medical practitioners who are specialists in natural medicine. They are extensively trained in modern medical science at accredited medical schools, after completing an undergraduate degree. The training includes how to diagnose by signs and symptoms, laboratory testing, physical exams and other diagnostic tools available to them.
