Naturopathic Doctors are required to take a minimum of 3 years of pre-medical training at a recognized university before entering an accredited Naturopathic College. After 4 years of rigorous medical studies, including a 1 year clinical internship, graduates receive a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine degree. To become licensed and registered to practice, graduates must pass a 4 day North American Licensing Exam and State or Provincial Board Exams.
Other holistic practitioners may not be trained, licensed, regulated or insured, and we would encourage you to investigate this before deciding on a practitioner.
